After getting my hands on a watch 7 ultra I immediately went back to my 4 classic, I hate to say it but you're going in the wrong direction. Seeing the leaks suggest the watch 8 "classic" is going to be the same design is disappointing. I personally liked the classic simply because it looked more like a traditional watch, I hate how the new design is a knockoff apple watch with a round display. I also feel like it's worth mentioning my local T-Mobile store said they still get people coming in for the 6 classic (which is why T-Mobile still offers it in store and on the app) and most people don't like the 7 ultra design.
They do make a regular old Watch 7. There is no difference in operation between the 4, 6 and 7, so it's not surprising the 8 is looking to be the same. As for your assertion that the Ultra is just an Apple knock off with a round screen, you are aware there is only so much one can do with the design of a watch? That's why even mechanical watches have followed the same design for centuries. The only revolution in watch styles was back in the 1980s when digital LED & LCD watches came on the scene, and they were either round or square. Smart watches only added features, not design elements. Apple decided on Square and Samsung and others went with round. I believe more people like round watches over square ones. Square ones are just odd and awkward. Since Apple and Samsung watches offer pretty much the same feature set, the interface design is more likely to be similar than different.
I have no complaints with OS or UI and honestly could careless what it does or doesn't do, the point I was making is strictly about the design the original classic looked like a traditional watch which is why most people liked it, a square watch with a round display just looks stupid in my opinion. If they're going to add all this extra real estate then utilize it.
