Anyone else experiencing this with their Galaxy Watch Ultra?

The watch only changes to exercise mode when using the orange action button **and** when connected via Bluetooth to the phone. It **should** switch modes independently, based on stored automation—like when initiating an exercise—but it doesn't.

Just installed the May security patch, hoping this bug would be squashed. **Nope.**

Sent multiple reports to Samsung Support, and they’ve said they’re looking into it, but so far, no resolution.

If anyone has a workaround or knows what’s going on, drop a comment. It’s beyond frustrating at this point.

Yes. I just tested with my GWU. When I was connected to my phone via Bluetooth it worked. Once I turned off Bluetooth on my phone and tried again, the mode did not change.

Samsung support takes forever BTW. They also will say something is fixed and it's not. Like my report about how the watches can't decide whether they want to use metric or standard. They said it was fixed in an update, it wasn't. I just got another notice it will be fixed in a future update. I'm like "uh huh... said this before. 😐"

Honestly, I think there are so many bugs in their various UIs and the way they've horribly convoluted their watch os's they're overwhelmed. I mean, what genius at Samsung thought having different versions of watch manager for each watch was a good idea? You have to maintain each one individually. Forget to update I've and some watches are fixed while others aren't. Those of us with different models can get a bug fixed on one but not the other one. Should have made one watch manger for all watches.

Thanks for testing. Same experience as you described and with "support" too, sadly.
It has to be a bug of some sort that was introduced in one of the more recent updates. When I first got the GWU, I don't recall having this issue. And so we wait....
