Subject: Power Saving Mode Suggestion for Galaxy Watch ā Wake-up Gesture Enhancement
Dear Samsung Galaxy Watch Team,
I hope this message finds you well.
As a long-time user and enthusiast of Galaxy Watch products, I would like to share a suggestion that I believe can significantly enhance user satisfaction and battery performance.
In the current Power Saving Mode, the Wake-up Gesture feature is disabled by default and cannot be re-enabled manually. This means that when Always On Display is off, the only remaining options for checking the time are either tapping the screen or pressing a button ā which can be inconvenient and undermines one of the core functionalities of a smartwatch.
This limitation can lead to user dissatisfaction over time, especially after the novelty of health tracking features wears off. Eventually, users begin to focus more on battery life and convenience, particularly as they face the need to charge the watch every other day.
My suggestion:
Allow the Wake-up Gesture to either remain active or be manually enabled even in Power Saving Mode. This small change could nearly double the perceived battery life without compromising core functionality.
You could even advertise this improvement with messaging like:
"Up to 4 days battery life" (with a small note: in power saving mode with wake gesture enabled).
As a user who prioritizes low charging frequency while still enjoying the essential feature of raising the wrist to check the time, I believe this would be a valuable improvement.
Thank you for considering my idea.
Looking forward to seeing more innovations from the amazing Samsung team.
Kind regards,
M.Habibi

Galaxy WatchCharge your battery before it falls to 12%. The idea of power saving is to keep your watch functional as a watch when power is low for long enough to get to a charger. Allowing the gestures or AOD defeats this purpose. If you want to save power and still use your AOD or gestures, put your watch in "watch only" mode. None of the energy using sensors will be active.
Also, you wrote such a long post that no one from Samsung is going to see. This is a peer to peer user help forum and the PoB at Samsung do not read the forum. You can send feedback through the support tab of the members app.
